One A Penny

My gorgeous Irish cousin posted this to Facebook as the new year began:
"Jaysus lads, we won't feel de Christmas now."

In aussie translation - 'it's funny, mate'.
She was taking the proverbial out of the 'ould ones' (and probably plenty of young ones too) who barely finish one event (Christmas, birthday, recession, pee...) before banging on about the next instalment.

I've eaten two hot cross buns and a Cadbury Creme Egg in the last fortnight
(plus plenty else - don't worry, that's not where I'm going here.)
I wanted to buy and eat little Caramello filled eggs in the supermarket yesterday and I started to think (or was it dream?) about those little Lindt bunnies last night.

Resistance is futile.
(For the most part, anyway) I'm above the age of twelve. What hope have our children got?

I think I want to have a stern word, and maybe a little physicality, with the people responsible for 'Easterizing' our shelves in  February (or January, even.)
Obviously, they are savvy to the fickle, weak-willed ways of consumers like me who take the bait.

Or do I want to kiss those same clever people with my gooey sweet eggy lips for extending my Creme Egg tenure?

Are you a sucker too?
Shar :-)

N.B. A Creme Egg if you can pick how many completely Shar-invented words/terms there are in this post?
Two if you compliment me on my buns. :-)

Why oh why I ask do the shops do this?? Half the time they are reduced for quick sale because no one is buying them...surely that is a sign?x

You are so funny Shar. I am seriously disturbed by how quickly they've bought the Easter products out. Thus far, I have not been swayed... but I HAVE been tempted. And I am not sure how much longer the will power is going to hold out. Baker's Delight is my absolute weakness though... those buns, oh man, once I start on those :o/ xo

I'm afraid I'm almost on the side of kissing them for I heart easter food even more than Christmas food. Thus far I've only eaten ONE hot cross bun and not bought a single egg! ...but I have the added bonus of self congratulations on my awesome willpower (until the day when I crumble, powerless before the pull of a Creme egg!)

Your buns are hot, but I'm pretty sure I tell you that all the time ;)
