The Fresh Horses...Funeral Edition

This week Eden has taken a morbid twist with her Fresh Horses Brigade - asking us to share our funeral songs. As in the ones we want played at our own funerals.
Edenland's Fresh Horses Brigade

It's not the sweetest thing to think about,
but it's definitely a car conversation I've had many times.

I feel spoiled for choice really
- from U2 to Xavier Rudd to Powderfinger,
I could keep 'em sitting there in the pews for hours with a beautiful playlist.

I figure I'm irritating enough in life though, so might spare people further pain in death.

As I reflect, I keep coming back to Robbie Williams.

Whether this is a sign that Robbie and I will be together (as he knows we should be) before I leave this world or whether it means he will finally see the error of his ways and turn up repentant to my funeral to pay tribute to the woman he let slip through his fingers - twice -
I don't know.

But I do know he would sing these two...
'Nan's Song' by Robbie :

and 'Angels' by Robbie:

Poor guy.
I can only imagine how distraught he'll be - finally finding some true meaning for his lyrics.

Happy weekend folks.
Shar :-)

Well, colour me insensitive, cos I LAUGHED. How cool would it be if Robbie Williams turned up at your funeral and did the whole dramatic regrets scene?
People would be talking about that for years!

Ah, Robbie, Robbie, Robbie, no doubt he'll be distraught at my passing too ;)

Great song choices.

You know I was so going to write a post this week about Robbie. I've re-established my love for him after a few years, and have been playing him non stop! *sigh* I think I'll be watching all my Robbie DVD's tomorrow while Mr G goes to golf. I'm swooning at the thought! :-)

I can totally see it happening - he'd be choked up but would find the strength to sing for you :) Robbie Williams is a top choice - I like it!

I think a big long playlist is a good idea... who cares if it keeps people waiting. ;)

Love me some Robbie. LOVE. He is just so goddamn HOT.

And I like your idea of keeping people sitting in the pew for hours, listening to songs. They'd have to sit and listen, too. It would be rude to leave.

I can't believe I am saying this, but great choice of funeral songs Shar lol ummmm hopefully Robbie will be way out of fashion by the time that day comes :) I mean that in the nicest possible way cause I totally love Robbie too, but he will be about as popular as Neil Doamond by the time you cark it....oh this is all coming out so wrong xxxx
