Happy Magoo, Happy You.

It doesn't take much to make this Mummy smile or get me all mushy mush.
But today certainly delivered on both counts.

Whilst I would love to say our household subscribes to the adage,
'Happy wife, happy life'the reality is that
'Happy Magoo , happy you' seems to be more the case.

Today the boy is happy.
And content. And well adjusted.
And did I mention happy?

Happy as a swine in wine (made that up to avoid swearing - totally copyrighting it) in his brand new Pre Kindy / Daycare set up.
Woo hoo, Alleluia, bravo, Amen and everything else to that.

As parents, we (generally speaking - rare scum not included) just want the best for our little people.
Yes, we can go about achieving this with some seriously misguided methodology at times, but with the greatest intentions at heart.

We don't want to see our little (or big) ones have to suffer needlessly.
We don't want to cause them pain or have to see others do it for us.
We don't want to pick them up from care/school/parties/play dates/the pavement and hear or see that they were sad, lonely or hurt - even if they are valid parts of life.

Moving Magoo from his familiar, small, community run daycare centre was a big decision for me.
One of so, so, so many decisions on this journey.
A decision necessary for a number of reasons.
Easy to rationalise, not so easy to execute.
So I sat on it for a while.
It took Magoo (and I) months to settle into his once-a-week care a couple of years ago and I was apprehensive about putting him through that again.

Whattayaknow?
I need not have worried.
Magoo rocked it today. The centre rocked it today.
He 'wuves evreeting' about the place.

These little people are far more resilient than we give them credit for.
They don't really need band aids or all that hand sanitiser, let alone cotton wool.

Today I can rest easy that 'Mummy did good' and Magoo did even better.

Shar :-)

Oh well done Magoo and well done Mama! I know this feeling only too well, as we also did the big swapsie with Angus. And much like Magoo, he took to it like the proverbial duck takes to water. They are resilient, that is for sure, but it will never stop us worrying and fretting and causing ourselves angst over the smallest of things, where they're involved. But I'm glad to hear that everyone is happy with the new setup :o) xo

How good does it feel when it all works out? That's so great!

Miss 4 is starting kindy 2 days a week next year. Well, actually, she started this year and only did one day. She was so not ready and had an absolutely horrid day...and so did I. I'm anxious already about her going again.

AGH...the things we have to do.

Love the pic of Magoo...toooooo cute!

Sending hugs to your little Magoo! He sure looked happy in that picture!

So glad to hear that the change was indeed a good one. For us moms, our little ones' happiness is always on top of our priority list, so knowing that Magoo 'wuves evreeting' about the new centre was GREAT news.

Bravo Magoo, and bravo Mommy! :))
