Bun In The Oven - Hot Cross Style

Seeing as I've been touting myself as 'Mum On The Run With A Bun' -
and because I can't resist a dorky, rhyming pun -
when Baker's Delight offered me a yummy Hot Cross Bun - fest, I was in.

One fine day last week, these appeared at our door.

Magoo was more than happy to tuck in straight away, but even the guzzling greedy guts that we are here shouldn't couldn't eat that many buns in the 'best before'.

We decided to do a little early Easter Bunny door dropping in our street
before Hubby came home and devoured the lot
and share the yummy wealth with our gorgeous neighbours.

The word on the street cul-de-sac is something like "mmmthmmmanmmmksmmm'.
This translates to a version of "Thanks, these are delicious."

Personally, I like mine lightly nuked or toasted
with a spread of marg and a sweet cup of tea.

For some inexplicable reason, the choc chip versions seem
to disappear at a rate of knots around here!
"Can't for the life of me think why, Ethel."

Baker's Delight will also be making any hot cross bun cravings all the sweeter
on Saturday March 24th with their 'Bundraiser' Day.
(Love the word play, BD!)

On this day, Baker's Delight stores will donate $1 from every six-pack of hot cross buns sold
to children's hospitals across the country.

So, not only will I be attending to my unborn child's needs (ahem) by stocking up,
I will be helping children everywhere. That's humanity.

The kind folk at Baker's Delight have given me 3 x $10 vouchers to give away here,
so you can get in on the bun action too.

Just leave a comment below and 3 random winners/grinners will be chosen via super sophisticated methods (like a Magoo raffle draw) and notified via email.

How do you like your buns?

Shar :-)

Oh yumbo & Easter to us is all about the hot cross buns. I love how yours look like they went on a little adventure with your wee lad. What i love is that you freeze them too, for a baked treat emergency!! Love Posie

You really make me laugh, Shar! Hmm, I'm a traditionalist. The old standard version but heated in the oven and smothered with butter. J x

I love hot cross buns, breakfast, lunch or dinner, they are a hit with me!
Everyone laughed at me at work the other day - I had hot cross buns with cheese, spinach and ham on them! Don't knock them till you try them.
If only we could have the stores supply my little habit all year round xx
