52 Week Project : Wk 18

I snapped this as I headed out this morning.
Without daylight saving and with a holiday sleep in
(by my standards)
the morning sun is my companion as I pound the pavement at the moment.
It's also doing a nice job of masking my shocking morning head here.

I've just popped some fresh tracks - new and old - onto my ipod,
so I had even more motivation to get up and out today.

When I can't rely on my own drive to get out the door, music is my motivator.
Hence, music has to be above a certain tempo to make it's way onto my ipod.

When I was training for the marathon I used music as my reward,
only turning it on for the last hour of a long run.

Funnily, during the Perth Marathon, I wore my ipod but didn't turn it on once.
There was no added incentive required on the big day.

I've recently bought Hubby a set of waterproof earphones and a waterproof case/armband to use with his ipod for paddling and swimming.
(From here, if you're interested.)

The little old lady within me is still marvelling that he can listen to his music under water.
What will they think of next, dear??!

I'm DYING to go for a run! I'm not a runner but just the freedom of having that energy in your body - and that sunshine behind you is AMAZING! So motivating x

That is just SUCH a gorgeous shot Shar, those sun rays are magnificent! I think we've both discussed this before, about the music... and how we need it playing all the time. Always love when new tracks are added to the ipod. In fact, I'd be interested to know what tracks get you motivated to pound the pavement, wonder if they're similar to mine. You know what would be good for your ipod?? The Venga Boys! ;o) xo

My hubby is a runner and I am tempted after seeing how much he loves it, but I am a brisk walker really. I might try it one day.

Beautiful shot, isn't the weather just divine at the moment! Enjoy your holiday sleep-ins. :)

Oh underwater easy listening, cool!! I tend to only do laps when my children are swimming too, so i listen out to them & helps avoid the odd weighting dolphin diving ring on my head (like yesterday) mind you, if the headphone form a helmet, i might be safer??
Happy running, what's on your play list?? I find P!NK makes me pumped, see how down with it i am, writing her name that way!! Britney makes me want to sing outloud, that's not good. Love Posie

You are amazing running marathons. I pump the music for a cleaning marathon -does that count? xxx

Wow, look at that sunlight. What a beautiful way to start the day. No more running for me - the dodgiest of knees, shins and ankles preclude it. I'm not jealous of other people usually, but being able to run is one of those things that makes me a little green...

Music. Impossible to live without it. I want to know what you listen to!

Brilliant shot - love it! :)

Your blog is so tempting me to want to get back to running. Just gotta get this baby out in a few weeks time, wait for things to calm down and a routine to form, and I'll be back on that treadmill and hopefully pounding the dusty streets of my town before I know it .... Maybe I should settle for a quiet walk right now and enjoy the sounds of country Australia?!

Awesome shot Shar. I love the light and your big smile. I need some running song inspiration! Do you have a playlist or do you "shuffle"? xx
