Point + Shoot : Easter Feaster

Delayed Point + Shoot telecast - due to super relaxed transmission.
And twenty five loads of washing.

Pretty damn relaxed, actually.

Over the Easter break, we camped at a beautiful spot about 4 hours north of Perth.
(5 hours if you account for large appetites and small bladders.)
Just the three of us this time - oh, and about 2000 other happy campers in the park.

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

I think that just about sums it up!

Confucious say : camping or no camping. Pregnant woman can never have too many pillows.

We just enjoyed.
Enjoyed hanging out, fishing, napping, swimming, eating, sandboarding, sightseeing, playing on every playground in the area, picnicking, walking, paddling, meeting the 'neighbours', reading, reclining, getting a bit feral...
all at our leisure.
No plans, no time frames, no commitments or obligations
- apart from to each other and the pursuit of relaxation!

The Easter Bunny must have G.P.S. - and E.S.P.

Camping's not everyone's cup of tea (or hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows),
 but it's definitely ours.

I hope you had yourself a beautiful loooong weekend too.

Point + Shoot : Party Central

Hey, just like the Venga Boys - we. like. to. party.
Always have.

Whilst pulling all-nighters and kicking up our heels were once the icing on our cake of life,
now Hubby and I are more likely to be literally enjoying the icing on the cake instead.

How talented are my friends???
Talent by association?

We've certainly partied 'hard' this weekend
- and have also been kicking back on the couch by 8pm each night!!

The times, they change.
The hangovers, they hurt.
The kids, they don't care.

The inappropriate adults, they don't grow up... :-)

We've celebrated at three birthday parties in the last couple of days
- each one filled with great friends, tons of fun - and of course, treats galore.

A small part of me craves a weekend of no plans and family spontaneity
(Easter - you may just be exactly what the Mummy ordered!)
but all the other parts of me love an excuse to celebrate our fabulous 'village',
mark milestones, run with a theme, socialise, watch my boy have himself a ball
and live life to it's fullest (until about 8pm, that is!)

Amongst the celebrations of the last couple of days,
my thoughts are constantly returning to the unfortunate fragility of life
and this renewed need I have to savour every moment,
soak up all the 'good stuff' I can and make damn sure that those I love know they're loved.

I hope your weekend was one to treasure.

Point + Shoot : Where's The Fire?

Hi there Monday!
Don't you come around quickly, you sneaky thing?!

It has been a brilliant and productive weekend around these parts.

Seeing as you asked...
we've loved having friends here for dinner, going to birthday parties
and celebrating 'Neighbour Day' with a fitting street party.
I may just be the only adult in this street without a headache in the morning!

Amongst all that fun, the highlight really has to be moving my 'baby'
from his nursery room and little toddler bed into the much acclaimed
(well, around here anyway) ...
big. boy. bed.room!!!

It's safe to say that a certain little someone is pretty chuffed with the
'fire engine room' as it has been labelled.
(Thankfully, not because of the need for emergency services.)

Yes, Hubby is very happy with his handiwork!
After a serious clean out, a paint job, some skirting boards, a carpet clean
and a morning of furniture assembly, we turned this cluttered, smelly space

 into this

A little bare for now - but clean and new(ish).
Honourable mention to patient Grandad for actually doing a lot of the 'work' elements!
Also, accolades to myself for 'sourcing' all the bits and pieces on a tight budget.
I would like to thank my good friend Ikea for making this pretty simple, really.
I also have a wall decal on it's nee-naw nee-naw way to brighten up the wall.

It's safe to say Magoo is pretty taken with his new digs too.

How was your two day holiday?

Point + Shoot : Weekend Win

Weekends are highly anticipated events around here.
By Friday afternoon, expectations are lofty and our hopes just as high.

Some weekends miss the mark,
but there's always the promise of another one around the corner.

Not this one.
It delivered.
In spades.
Or clovers.

We enjoyed the perfect mix of family chill, household maintenance
and social butterflying this weekend.

From a beautiful champagne breakfast in the valley (minus the champagne),
to a hilarious, boozy girls' night (minus the booze),
to a local fair full of THE BEST fudge (minus the guilt),

to a very happy cheap-plastic-fire-engine winner...

This here weekend was the goods.
I hope yours lived up to it's reputation too.

Point + Shoot : The Cure

What's the best remedy for a professional week from hell?
A family weekend from heaven.

I love that my boys - and the rest of our village  - literally raise me up.
~Cue choirs of angels singing!!! ~

Seriously, family and friends are the reminder of what is truly important in life.
That big picture  - made up of beautiful times with even more beautiful people.

And nothing makes me happier than watching my two super-favourite people enjoying the company of some of my other favourite people all weekend long.

Crust Pizza - mmmmmmmmmmmm

I love when the family we've created spends time so effortlessly
with the families our friends have created.

I just love watching my child playing, laughing and getting up to mischief
with the children of our buddies.

I love the ease, comfort and genuine acceptance.
I love the relaxing, the chatting, the cracking each other up.

I know this easy, selfish socialising won't last forever,
but I'm certainly enjoying the spoils while it does.

Hope you have had an uplifting weekend too.
